Hiroaki Umeda: 2. Repulsion & 3. Isolation

Hiroaki Umeda’s solos are characterized by extreme tension between real corporeality and a disembodiment in media. Driven by a desire to share his choreographic method and to confront himself with other dance techniques, Umeda started a ten-year choreographic project in 2009. For »2. repulsion« he worked with three hip hop dancers. For Tanz im August he created the trio »3.isolation« in which ballet dancers take over his movement material.
